Edward DiSabato passed on June 06, 2006 at the age of 77. He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years Annette (Zaffuto) DiSabato; children Diane (Gary) Palmiere, Doreen Bonder, Edward DiSabato, David DiSabato, Steven (Veronica) DiSabato & devoted daughter Lynn Marie DiSabato; grandchildren Nicole & Michael Palmiere, Ian & Jordan Bonder, Nina Marie “Padina” & Anthony “Tony” DiSabato; sisters Beatrice (Bob Stefanello) Domizio & Lorraine DiSabato; step-brothers & step-sister Leonard Federico, Mary Federico & Robert Federico; sister-in-law & brother-in-law Betty (Vincent) Teresi; several nieces, nephews & dear friends.

Edward was born in Mt. Vernon, NY and he served his country as a US Marine during WWII. He was a retired detective, serving with the Rochester Police Department for 26 years. He was fond of collecting coins & jewelry and will be remembered for his ability as a handyman.

Visitation is Friday 2-4 & 7-9 at Bartolomeo & Perotto Funeral Home - 1411 Vintage Lane (Between 390 and Long Pond Road) Edward’s Funeral Mass will be held 9:30 a.m. on Sat. at Holy Cross Church. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donations may be sent to the School of the Holy Childhood or to Lollypop Farm.

Francis "Frank" T. Newman passed peacefully on June 16, 2006 at age 90. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Geraldine; children, Carol (Bill) Sharpe, Richard F. (Connie) Newman and Robert J. (Bev) Newman; sister, Doris Amick; grandchildren, Scott, Gary, Gregory, Kevin, Karen, Christine, Carrie, Holly, Elisabeth and Susanne; along with 16 great-grandchildren.
Frank retired from the Rochester Police Department after serving 29 years.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 19, 4-8 PM at the New Comer Family Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Ave. His Funeral Service will be held Tuesday at 9:30 AM in Spiritus Christi Church, 121 N. Fitzhugh St. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Spiritus Christi Outreach Program, 121 N. Fitzhugh St., Rochester, NY 14614. Charles J. Bonsignore passed peacefully on June 30th 2006 at the age of 87.  He was predeceased by his wife, Josephine and brothers, Albert and Louis.  He is susrvived by his loving family, children, Sue (Tom) Capuano, Charlie (Cathy) Bonsignore and Fran (Richard) Turk; grandchildren, Tom, Deanna, Danielle, Nicole and Jackson; sister, Mary Morphet; many nieces, nephews and friends. 

Before Charlie entered the Rochester Police Department, he served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.  He was a long time member of the ARPALER, The Rochester Police Locust Club, The Rosewood Club, and The Police Benevolent Association. 

Visitations will be held on Monday 4-8 p.m. at the Profetta Funeral Chapel - 1650 Empire Blvd. His funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday 9:15 a.m. at St. Rita's Church - 1008 Maple Drive, Webster, NY. Retired Rochester PD Officer Sam Marchione passed away on July 8th, 2006. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Antoinette; and Brother Sebastian. He is survived by brothers, Thomas of Canandaigua, Joseph of Rochester and Peter of California. One sister, Clara (Claire) of Rochester; and several cousins. Sam retired from the RPD after serving 20 plus years. Many retirees remembered him from the old “Area A” First East and First West Sections. Sam was a long time member of the ARPALER.

Donations in his memory may be made to the School of the Holy Childhood, 100 Groton Pkwy, Rochester, NY 14623.

James D. Marasco passed on July 28, 2006 at the age of 63. Predeceased by his first wife Annalee; his father, Samuel; and brother William. He is survived by his wife,Mary; his children Janine Jurgensen, James A. (Carolyn) Marasco; stepsons, Benjamin & David Roberts; Grandchildren James R. and Jason A. Marasco, Jaiden Jurgensen; his Mother Lillian Marasco; brothers and sisters, Michael, and Samuel Marasco, Betty (Joseph) Moriarty, Rose Young, Marianne (Carl) Ranney, Sandra "Tucky" Marasco, David Marasco, Diane Marasco, Dennis (Patty) Marasco sister in law AnnMarie Marasco; Many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Jim was a retired member of the Gates Police Department, and a long time member of the ARPALER. Calling hours are MONDAY 2-5 AND 7-9 at the Falvo Funeral Home 1295 FAIRPORT NINE MILE PT. RD. (Webster, Route 250, between 104 and Plank Rd.) His Funeral Mass will be Tuesday 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Cathedral 296 Flower City Park - In lieu of flowers, donations to Bone Marrow Transplant Unit of Strong Memorial Hospital - 601 Elmwood Avenue - Rochester, NY 14642.

SERGEANT WILLIAM REYNOLDS

Retired Sergeant Bill Reynolds passed on August 1st, 2006 at the age of 72. He was predeceased by his parents, Dornie and Eunice Reynolds. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Mildred Reynolds; children, Richard Reynolds of Kailua, HI, Christian Reynolds of Jefferson, GA, and Meredith Arrington; 3 grandchildren; brothers John (Suzy) Reynolds and Dornie (Gloria) Reynolds; brothers-in-law, Dr. Herman (Joy) Jordan of Teaneck, NJ, and Dr. Robert (Dr. Winifred) Simmons of Kailua, HI; nieces and nephews.

Sergeant Reynolds retired from the RPD after serving 36 years. He was Korean War Veteran and a member of the Masons and Shriners. Bill was a long time member of the ARPALER as well as the Rochester Police Benevolent and Rochester Police Locust Club. Many of you will remember Bill as one of the Bagpipers for the Keystone Pipes and Drums at the annual C.O.P.S. Memorial Service.

Margaret H. Pfuntner passed on August 12, 2006 at the age of 81 years. Survived by her husband, Richard, daughter, Marjorie (Robert) Delena of Citra, Fl; brother, David (Moira) Andrews of Parkgate, England; nephew, Jeremy (Cleo) Andrews of London; also 9 brothers and sister's-in-law, several nieces and nephews in the U.S.

Margaret was raised and educated in England; joined the British Royal Women's Army, serving in the Royal AA Battalion. She emigrated to the U.S. in 1953, and joined the Rochester Police Department in 1959. She was member of the Genesee Valley Pony Club, Geneseo Garden Club, Genesee Valley Breeders Association. She also volunteered for the Humane Society and the American Red Cross. She retired as an Investigator from the Rochester Police Department in 1980, and was a member of the ARPALER.

Her services were held at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc. Rte 15 Livonia.

On August 31, 2006 Ted died peacefully at home in Fairport, NY at the age of 92 years. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Helen (Boehm) and daughters, Kathleen (Richard) Alrutz, Alice (John) Gucker, Joan Neidert and Helen (Jeff) Graham; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Schlueter; brother, Paul Neidert. Ted was an Army veteran of WW II, serving in the North African, Sicilian and Italian Campaigns.

He retired from the Rochester Police Department in 1970, after 26 years of service. No prior calling. Family and friends attended his Funeral Mass at Church of the Transfiguration, 50 West Bloomfield Rd., Pittsford Wednesday, September 6 at 10:00 A.M. Interment, Holy Sepulchre. In lieu of flowers, please consider a charity of your choice and keep his family in your prayers. Arrangements: Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home.
