Anthony DeBellis

 

Sergeant Tony DeBellis, retired in 2008, after a 38-year career with the Rochester Police Department. During his RPD service, he worked nearly every section of the City and was also a member of the  SWAT Team. He spent the last 12 years of his career assigned to the Criminal Investigations Section working in the Crime Analysis Unit and, most recently, the Major Crimes Unit. Tony is also a 28-year veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve and retired in 1996 at the rank of Master Sergeant. He is a past recipient of the Henry Jensen Memorial Award.

 
 


COPS Memorial Committee
James Vanbrederode

Lieutenant James Vanbrederode has been a member of the Gates Police Dept.for 16 years, currently assigned as 1st Platoon supervisor. He was a member of the Rochester Police Dept. for 3 years. He has been a member of ARPALER “…since the Gillette days.” Jim is Chairman of the COPS Memorial Committee. He serves on the C.O.P.S. Board as Treasurer and is a Piper Major for the Keystone Club Police Pipes and Drums Band. Jim is a member of the Roberts Wesleyan College Alumni Assoc., Ogden Town Republican Committee, Gates Historical Society, Rochester Scottish Pipes and Drums and the Church of the Epiphany. He enjoys playing bagpipes and collecting antique firetrucks.

             


Chaplain
Deacon Angelo J. Coccia

 

Deacon Angelo J. Coccia retired after serving as a City Court Officer and Court Bail Officer for 25 years. He was ordained a Deacon by the Rochester Diocese in 1988. He is the founder & Coordinator of the St. Francis House and joined ARPALER in 2003. He officiates at many funerals of ARPALER members, and participates in the COPS Vigil as well as the ceremonies for National Police Week.

 


Elections Committee
Brian Page

 
Brian Page retired from the Rochester Police Dept. at the rank of Captain after 22 years of service. He served as Chief of Police in Ithaca, NY for 1 year and then returned to Monroe County where he served as Fairport, NY Chief of Police for 11 years. He has been a member of ARPALER for 12 years and is Chairman of the Elections Committee. Brian is a member of the NYS Chiefs of Police, International Assoc. of Chiefs of Police and the Rochester PBA. His hobbies include billiards, poker and custom cars. He operates “Brian Page Automotive”, selling vehicles wholesale to the public and collector cars on E-Bay. Sam Platania

 

Sam is a retiree from Xerox Corporation where he worked as tester, troubleshooter and repairman.  In addition to being our photographer, he has been a very active associate member of ARPALER since 1995, and serves on the reception committee on meeting days.  Sam is a member of the Amalgamated Retiree Organization and the National Rifle Association.  His hobbies include being a healthcare provider with Shaklee Products, Photography, and since 1959, he has been helping people as a barber/hairdresser.
