Any course of study or Major is acceptable.  The minimum stipend for each grant will be one thousand dollars ($1000.00) and it is anticipated that five grants will be awarded for 2008.  The first two grants (one each) will be awarded to the daughter, son, etc of a member of ARPALER and ASIS Chapter 022.  All other grants are open to anyone who applies.  Financial need will not be a consideration and no financial statement is required. Deadline for applications and all related documentation is June 15, 2008.  The scholarship program is a joint endeavor of ASIS International Chapter 022 and ARPALER (Association of Rochester Police & Area Law Enforcement Retirees) funded by an annual golf tournament.

Each scholarship is awarded as: Andrew J. Sperr Memorial Scholarship in memory of New York State Trooper Andy Sperr who gave his life in the line of duty.
